Chewbacca Noise
Hi I have a 1993 s10 4x4 263 4.3 2 door blazer and recently I blew my heater core so I had it replaced and ever since I have had a Chewbacca noise when I accelerate moderately to hard. I replaced the radiator, Thermostat, had the coolant flushed and still it makes this wierd noise. I also flushed the transmission thinking it was a tranny noise. well recently I have noticed a small wet area near the back below some of the fuel lines. I had the fuel tank and sending unit replaced a few years ago but this is the fuel lines near the back. I could only guess that there is a fuel preasure problem that when you accelerate it drops the fuel preasure and makes this messed up sound when the fuel pump starts to really work. the lines are in good shape but it looks like the connections arn't that good. any advice would be good for this newbie Thanks

Re: Chewbacca Noise
Welcome Aboard!
No doubt about it - You've got a wookie in your fuel tank. There's only one known cure for that: ![]() It's possible that there is a problem with the fuel pump pedestal, and the pump is not solidly connected: ![]() An easy way to check that is to monitor fuel pressure while driving. |

Re: Chewbacca Noise
Thanks I will check Fuel Pressure with a regulator when my mechanic gets back from florida. in the mean time I will check out the fuel lines to see how bad it's leaking while running.
