My SR20DET powered silvia widebody project, it too will be slow going

this is the project for which my first SR20DET will be installed

here's the body with sheet plastic, some putty and the hood cut off

here's the chassis with the drivetrain and exhaust removed and holes filled in.

I guess a merge of these two projects should happen, but I felt that since the motor is such a build in and of it's own, I'd seperate them

so, let's keep me motivated with some feedback guys! let me know what you think.

Ken

Re: My SR20DET powered silvia widebody project, it too will be slow going

I just used the back of a #11 hobby blade and carefully scribed into the existing hood line with LIGHT passes, taking my time removing very little material with each pass, until I cut all the way through. now don't be tempted to cut most of the way then break off, or just cut through that last little thin strip that's just annoyingly stubborn, it will cut through eventually. it took me about 1/2 an hour to cut out the hood. just remember that patience is key to something like this.

been really buisy getting money matters in order so time is against me on these builds, but thanks to you fine folks here on A/F, I keep on pluggin'! I'll see if I can squeeze in a few out door body shots before the sun goes down, if I can.
