Another Great thing from Japan!!!

Alright, not counting the cheesy Pokemon, Digimon, or any other kiddie shows of anime (which I heard are semi-good uncut) do you like it or not?

Anime is the best thing to come from Japan and the art and story line is what makes it so great!

So, if you do watch/collect/read/whatever anime, what's your fav and what do you like about? I know some people just totally hate it, but their are those true fans of it's artistic abilities and plotlines.

Gundam Wing freaking rocks. Hands down the best of all of those. There is so much politics and theory in that movie. I love that series. I also like:

Zoids
Yu Yu Hakusho
Dragon Ball
Initial D
Wangan Midnight
Rurouni Kenshin*
Trigun*
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Outlaw Star

* = freaking awesome!

Dragon Ball was just nutty enough and fun to watch.

Akira was the possibly the magnum opus of the anime manga genre when it was completed in 1988. And I surprised none of you seem to recognise it...

If someone has then I'd interested in hearing what you thought of it.

Well I should have expected Ci5ic to own it!

If we're talking about earlier stuff from Japan - what about G-Force from Battle of the Planets?

Or Speed Racer... go speed racer, go speed racer go... hang on a sec.

Now I have stuck in My Saturday Morning Cartoon's Greatest Hits CD so I can listen to... Speed Racer Theme being played by Sponge!!! And Hong Kong Phooey by Sublime...

I cant find a copy of it anywhere, it stopped being sold new some time ago, and no one wants to sell a 2nd hand copy to real grovey.

And I always thought Sailor moon was the be all and end all of Anime?

Moppie I bought my copy at Borders in the Sky City Leisure Complex (what was the Force Entertainment complex next to Aotea Square). It was a while ago but they had it when no one else did.
