Pulling off the rear bumper cover

How hard is it to pull of the rear bumper cover from a 99 windstar.

I backed up into another car and barely bumped it and the corner of the bumper cover caved in and I would like to pop it out. I tried doing it from underneath while it was still on with no luck. So the only thing I figure I have to pull it off and pop it out.

Any help would be appreciate...

Re: Pulling off the rear bumper cover

I pulled the rear bumper cover off of my 2000 Windstar LX without problem (to simplify a trailer wiring project). There are several plastic clips that need to be removed from underneath, and several screws that can be accessed within each rear wheel well. I also recall some kind of bracket under the cover on each side (sorry, can't remember any other details). In general, I don't recall it being terribly difficult.

Re: Pulling off the rear bumper cover

It didn't look too hard, but I was not sure if there was some special tool that was need to remove clips and the sort. I notice there are plastic screws or clips under the back hatch that run along the weather seal.

Thanks of the information.
