Questions on my turbo install...

Well I orignally wanted a t3/t4 setup with my B16. I could have got a drag manifold and a turbonetics t3/t4 for 750. Didn't get it so I got a KKK K24 Turbo which is from a Porche 911 Turbo. Anyone deal with any of these before? so I got the turbo I was just wondering how hard it is to rotate the compressor housing so it makes the charge lines easier to make. I am going to be making custom charge lines with custom downpipe (yes I know how to weld and fabricate) so it would be easier if the compressor outlet was facing up and not towards the radiator. Anyone have any input on this turbo? spool time, maxx output etc etc? Thanks alot!!

i asked the same question a while back. all you gotta do is loosen the bolts on the compressor side of the turbo, loosen, don't take off, and tighten back up, thats it.

make sure that u rebuild the turbo before putting it in though. mine was a garret t3, a/r .42 intake, .48 exhaust, and had absolutely no shaft play, did custom turbo setup and turbo ended up leaking oil. rebuilds don't cost much so better safe than sorry if you're buying a used turbo.

rebuild kit costs about 75 bucks, i think. never rebuilt one, but doesn't seem hard, just replace seals, etc. if you send it out to rebuild probably cost about 175-200 bucks.
