throttle body tune up kit

has anyone installed the entire gasket kit for the 4.3L throttle body kit? I was thinking of pulling the entire unit and going soup to nuts on it and replace all of the gaskets including the injector and pressure regulator gaskets.

if so, how long did it take and was it a reasonably leak free and smooth install with the aftermarket gasket kits.

any problems to watch out for?

I've been in a "repair before it goes bad" frenzy lately and am looking almost anything to replace.

Done a few, no real issues, if you feel comfortable doing this, lube all the seals with a lite coat of vasoline, especially the injector seals. Careful with the regulator, get it back together proprely ( naturally), sensitive piece to take apart. Took me an hour once it was off, the lines can be a tight squeeze getting them out of the TB.

Re: throttle body tune up kit

thanks for the info Max.

I'll watch out for those lines.

Is gasket sealer needed on any of it?

What does the vasaline do?

Re: throttle body tune up kit

Vasoline helps the o-rings slide over the parts better, as well as preserve the o-rings. When I did mine it was fairly easy, the hardest part was putting the regulator back in. I have replaced a lot of injectors before, that part is very easy.
