Ferrari 250GTO #20 LM'63

Hi,

Here is my latest build, a Gunze Sangyo Ferrari 250GTO. This will be mostly OOB, wheels will be either Tecnomodel or MFH items, and interior will get some additional details. Decals are from MFH 250GTO kit.

Will enjoy following this.

What's with the 250 GTO's all of a sudden?

Re: Ferrari 250GTO #20 LM'63

Some more progress:

Interior is done. Modifications that i made to the Gunze kit are:
-Replicas & Miniatures resin seats with scratchbuilt seat rails.
-Door panel opening modified according to my references. Might be right might not, since this was done based on another chassis #
-Added straps for opening the doors
-Oil filler tube and two stiffeners added
-MFH vinyl decal for steering wheel hub

Here's couple of pics:

Re: Ferrari 250GTO #20 LM'63

Niko, it's coming along great!

May I share a couple of thoughts with you?

I'm thinking that the gear change lever doesn't look so good. Is it still the original actory chrome part? If so, maybe think about replcing it with a thinner, scratch built part or at least removing the factory chrome and repainting the stem and knob

Also, I'm wondering whether that MFH stick-on isn't too large and out of scale? Maybe a regular decal wouldn't look quite so large.

I maybe wrong with both these thoughts so I hope you don't mind me thinking out loud?

Stevenski

PS if it's my and CeeElle's comments you don't understand the story is that we traded kits. Mine arrived with me but CeeElles 250GTO and another Ferrari didn't make it (yet, I hope). That's why he made the joke about the postman and because he knows I feel bad about it - but it is all said in fun I hope

Re: Ferrari 250GTO #20 LM'63

Ok, this clarifies the postman message. No harm done, and i'm sorry to hear that such a nice kit is in wrong hands (hopefully not permanently).

Now that you shared your thoughts with me.. Well it is obvious that you are right. The pic angle makes it even more clear. I had noticed these problems before, but thought that it wouldn't look as bad as it really does.

I have some spare Cavalino roundel decals from my 612 if you want a couple?
Just PM me if you need them for the steering wheel.

Re: Ferrari 250GTO #20 LM'63

Nice progress. The car looks great, especially those wheels. Maybe you can replace part or all of the shift lever with a pin. It's pretty easy to put a pin in your dremel or drill and shape the head to look realistic
