Engine overspeed condition is what it read... any ideas on what it could be? Im sending it off to the dealership but im still curious

yeah the first time I ever did the light came on... ( i bought the car a week ago) and now I cant even hit over 4 grand...pretty scared about it. It doesnt go to acura till monday so im curious as to what the fuck happened. Im hoping the VTEC just disabled or something until acura looks at it.
