2000 K1500 Runs Rough and Stalls
My 2000 K1500 5.3 Ext Cab has always ran perfectly until about a week ago. It has stalled several times when idling at a light and sometimes it chugs when I try to speed up. I replaced the fuel filter and that didn't do any good. It has 94,500 miles on it and has never needed a tune up. So, what's next...new plugs and wires? Or...?

Check the fuel pressure first, yes you are do for a tune up for sure. FP should be 60-65.

What all is done besides plugs, plug wires and fuel and air filters? I used to do all of this stuff years ago but I have forgotten most of it.

Clean the throttle body, maybe get some Chevron Techron injector cleaner in the tank, clean up the iac and passages at that mileage. Use oe AC Iridium plugs and premium wires, also Delco if possible.

Re: 2000 K1500 Runs Rough and Stalls
I replaced the fuel filter, took the IAC out and cleaned it...boy was it dirty...and cleaned the throttle body and man it made a big difference. The engine hasn't stalled once but with 94,500 miles on it do you think I should replace the plugs even if it runs OK?

Re: 2000 K1500 Runs Rough and Stalls
Just put new AC Delco Platinum plugs in with new plug wires and the engine runs like new.
