99 Malibu won't start
Hello
I've got a 99 Malibu with a 3.1L V6. The car was running good and after I came out of the store it wouldn't start. It doesn't crank over or anything. I can start it with a screwdriver at the starter. I've checked the fuses and switched them around, but still nothing. Is there a relay or something else I can try. I don't want to change out the ignition. It's an extremely expensive and difficult job, I'll do that only as the last resort. How can I tell if this car has a pass-key or anti-theft system malfunctioning. Thanks in advance. |

Re: 99 Malibu won't start
Check your owners manual if you have one. check all the underhood fuses and relays in the underhood compartment [drivers side by the firewall] there is a iterrior fuse compartment located at the drivers-side dash [you need to open the drivers door to see it] sounds like the starter solenoid to me.

Re: 99 Malibu won't start
Thanks to all of you.
It turned out to be the neutral safety switch in the center console. I guess I spilled something on it. I took me 4 hours to figure that out and get the car running again. |
