Budsocks

I have a 1992 Chevy Lumina and was wondering about why the rear end is sagging so much. I thought it was because the fiberglass spring was cracked and it did in fact look that way , so I got another one from a salvage yard and just put it in the other day. It still looks like the back end is sagging and was wondering if it was something else like the rubber shocks on the sway bar. I also have been having problems with the head lights on this car and have adjusted them many times and still don't have them right. I can understand that the car should be level and that means the rear end has to be up , but I have had this problem with the lights for years. Does anybody have any ideas?

Re: Budsocks

Welcome to AF! Sounds like rear struts are bad (IMO); could be something else though. As far as the headlights, you would probably have to get the car at the right height (in the rear) to get them perfect. My only suggestion would be to do the adjustments at night (with the lights on). Pull up near a building so that you have somewhere to judge them. Then adjust from there. I think you have to have a special tool to adjust these headlights. As I recall, you have to use one of those "star tools" which should be easily found at any auto parts store. After adjustments, take it for a quick test-drive, if they're too high then lower them and vice versa.
