2007 Saleen Mustang GT sedan

If you've been reading the automotive news today, you'll notice how there are roumers that Ford is considering expanding the Mustang line from a coupe/convertable to include a sedan and wagon for the 2011 model year. A sedan MAYBE, and thats a huge maybe IMO, but for sure no wagon. If they did a Mustang based sedan/wagon, then dont use the Mustang name. A Charger/Magnum competitor would be good and a 300C competing Lincoln version sounds good.

But anyways this got me thinking what a current Mustang would look like in sedan form. So I waved the MS Paint wand over a 2007 Saleen Mustang and this is the product. Was a pretty simple chop, but getting the colors right took some time. If a Mustang could be a sedan and wagon, then I dont know what to believe anymore... Enjoy?

And just for shits and giggles I made a 99' Mustang sedan in under a minute:

Re: 2007 Saleen Mustang GT sedan

I kinda like the look of the 2010 Mustang, real nice but im kinda tired of talking about it, especially on YMR

as for the chop..

its a really good chop just an ugly car, I hope they dont do a sedan (no offense)

Almost looks like a limo. I thinks its pretty cool. Maybe if it were a little shorter it would look more mustang like.

Re: 2007 Saleen Mustang GT sedan

good chop, fugly car.
it looks like a demented charger...

in a 4-door the doors are smaller than in a 2-door.
the car should be about the same overall length in 4-door form as 2-door form.
in real cars, they are usually the exact same length.

i think this is why the chop looks so weird.

Yeah, everytime I do the coupe>sedan mod, it always has those odd proportions. I can never really get the rear doors to be right compared to the front doors. I would, however, been able to incorporate the rear door better if that thing wasnt over the quarter window. Because if it weren't, I would have made that window part of the door or somthing. Oh well...

Re: 2007 Saleen Mustang GT sedan

well you have to shrink the front doors and make the rear doors about half size.
look at the charger for inspiration.
the rear doors are tiny.

without rear doors the front doors would come about halfway down the rear doors.

Re: 2007 Saleen Mustang GT sedan

Ok, so heres how it went down, I took the advice from above and worked on it between last night and today. Heres what I came up with:

Shortened the front and rear doors

Modified the line supposed to be the space beween the front and rear door to be more sedan-like, deleted the "15"

Then I had an epiphany. Its a Mustang, but its a sedan. 4 door coupe!

I lined the original pic up with these, and the wheels (which I didnt touch) are within about a half cm of the original. So there you go. For reference heres the original.

Sorry, this probably looks confusing.

C&C for the Mustang Sedan 2.0

Wow that looks incredibly better.. very nice car everything is the correct size I don't know what to say about the c+c but I guess if I had to say something.. it would be if you look right up close to the door line on the rear door is a bit squiggily but I had to find something at least a little wrong with it.

Re: 2007 Saleen Mustang GT sedan

Thanks, Im quite happy with how the new ones came out (especially the last one with the blacked out B pillar). There still seems to be somthing missing. But I cant put my finger on it.

I knwo what you're saying, I'm not totally sure but I think it might be that the side is too plain since you took out the higher side scoop and something looks too plain from the rear door and back, what do you think?

Yeah, thats quite true. It does make it look more plain. I tired putting it back on, but the scoop justs into the rear door window too much so putting it back on isnt really an option now...
