I was searching around EBay, and I found some interesting peices for sale the first is a Turbo manifold/header system for the 3000gt for only 500 bux. this kinda struck me as peculiar because I am use to seeing them go for upwards of 1k and that is only for the manifolds. This kit comes with the adapters that lead to the downpipe as well. The company that produces it, ETD, has an actualy website and what not. Apparently they are a Canadian based performance shop or something. The second was for a Custom Intake manifold that supposedly had a great deal more flow then the stock unit. I don't know what to think about these two things, so I am throwing it out there to see what your guy's opinions are.
Yeah so here is the ad: Turbo Manifold & DownPipe Pre Cats Upgrade Kit for 91-99 MITSUBISHI 3000GT GTO Dodge Stealth Kit Includes: * Turbo Manifold x2 * Down Pipe x2, with O2 Sensor Housing * High Quality CNC Cut Flange * 304 Stainless Steel * Beautifully Made Craftsman Works The Manifold bolts on 91-99 Downpipe bolts on 94-99 The kit bolts on 94-99 And here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Upgra...spagenameZWD1V Here is an add for an intake manifold I saw too. If I'm not mistaken, didn't GT-Pro use to make something like this a while back? I wonder why they stopped: HERE WE HAVE AN ALUMINUM INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR DODGE STEALTH RT AND MITSUBISHI 3000GT TWIN TURBO. THIS PIECE WAS CUSTOM ORDERED FOR A CUSTOMER'S CAR BUT HE TOTALLED IT BEFORE WE EVEN HAD A CHANCE TO INSTALL IT, SO IT'S UP FOR SALE NOW. WE HAVE INSTALLED THESE IN THE PAST FOR CUSTOMERS AND HAD REALLY NICE RESULTS IN POWER WITH THE SHORTER RUNNERS, MONSTER PLENUM AND BIGGER THROTTLE BODY OPENING. SUPER HUGE 6061 MIRROR POLISHED PLENUM, TB OPENING IS 76MM AND IS SET UP FOR MUSTANG 5.0L 76MM ( 3 INCH ) THROTTLE BODY, BUT THIS ALSO COMES WITH 5/8" THICK BILLET 65MM ( 2.5 INCH ) TB ADAPTER PLATE SO THAT YOU CAN USE THE STOCK THROTTLE BODY IF NEEDED. A REAL NICE TOUCH BECAUSE IT LETS YOU USE YOUR FACTORY TB FOR NOW AND UPGRADE TO A MUSTANG TB LATER DOWN THE ROAD WITHOUT HAVING TO CHANGE THE MANIFOLD OR CHOP IT UP. IT HAS A SLOPED END CAP SO NUMBER 6 CYLINDER GETS FED PROPERLY. ALL BRASS FITTINGS. THE PLENUM IS A THICK .190 SHEET 6061 ALUMINUM. IT IS DOUBLE WELDED WHERE THE RUNNERS MEET THE PLENUM, WELDED INSIDE AND OUTSIDE FOR STRENGTH. A QUALITY PIECE FOR RACE CAR OR SHOW CAR OR STREET CAR. Ad Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3000G...spagenameZWDVW I was just wondering if all this is just some cheapo ebay crap, or if any of these things may actually make a difference to the performance. Any help is appreciated...thanks

Re: Cheapo Ebay parts or Promising Performance Upgrades: Turbo Manifolds + IntakeManifold
The biggest 2 problems you will run across with cheap ebay stuff is
a) fitment, half hte time they never have even tested it on a 3S, they just copied somebody else's design. b) cheap welds. Now I'm not a welder, so I can't tell you if they look good or not, but be aware of those 2 issues. I havn't seen that particular header kit before, so I don't know. Some people have gotten good ebay downpipes, some havn't. As far as the manifold, the size isn't the issue, as much as the design and how it flows. It looks like htey just welded up a huge aluminum box to the stock runners. Just because it's larger, doesn't mean it increases flow, OR, speeds/distributes flow, any better. The bottom line, do you really want to toss on an unknown plenum and find out later that it's cheap design starves a cylinder? I really don't think that will help all that much. You could post them up on 3si as well as here, and see if anybody has had any experiences with these particular sellers/products.

Re: Cheapo Ebay parts or Promising Performance Upgrades: Turbo Manifolds + IntakeManifold
The plenum looks good to me on the outside, and the inside welds dont look pretty but they arent all that bad either.
I have heard bad things about those manifolds.

Re: Cheapo Ebay parts or Promising Performance Upgrades: Turbo Manifolds + IntakeManifold
yeah my down pipe i got on ebay was a bitch to get on.. I had to drill the holes out bigger so the stud would fit and i had to add a lot of force to get it to line up ok.. the welds looked good.. but we will see how they hold up
