d16y8 engine, in a 00 civic ex?

my 00 civic ex has a d16y8 engine when i bought it last year. i've read a few maintance books on my civic and they say that it comes with a d16z7. if it matters, my car is an automatic transmission. does the d16y8 engine come stock in a 00 ex or was it swapped? and if so what is it's stock hp and is it a vtec or non vtec?

Well since 00' is a 6th generation civic, shouldnt they all have the same engine? If not, how do they classify generations? Mine is a 98 and it's a y8, but I'm not to sure on the subject.

d16z7 is misprint. all 6th gen civic ex's have d16y8. the 5th gen, 92-95 has the d16z6.
