Angry CD player hot enough to cook an egg!

anyone else encounter the problem of the tape/CD player becoming so hot that the CD skips -- the CD doesn't skip on the first play-thru. this happens on multiple CD's. any ideas on this one?

The problem is that the stereos now incorporate high-power amps and don't get cooled enough... so the disc is getting heated by the amp. On my new Suburban they must have realized this was a problem because they put a fan in the stereo. On really hot days, or after playing for an hour or so... I can hear the little fan come on to cool it down. If your handly with electronics, you might consider mounting a fan back there
