camshaft timing mark

can anyone tell me which marks to line up on, on the camshaft? the pointer has three notches which one do i line up on the actual timing mark? 4cyl.2.3L

Uhm. At risk of being stupid, isn't the timing indicator on the crankshaft? -.-

damnthemachines - Three pointers must be lined up properly to time the engine. crank, camshaft, and distributer.

justnifty - I have the same issue. Did you find an answer? My pointer lines up between either the left two or, moving the belt one notch, the right two marks, NOT dead on the center one. Of course, my truck won't start.
