Yes I would appreciate that. I will buy a copy of the magazine, but it takes about two months before it hits the shelves here in Malaysia and the folks over on PistonHeads are raving about the article, so two months seems like two years too long.

Two months is a long time.

It will probably take just a few more weeks from now before it reaches US shores.

Your scans will certainly tie me over until I can get a copy for myself. Thanks in advance.

What's on the cover? I will keep an eye out, although I have been getting a little bored of EVO lately.

May I remind you that the chassis stinks, it has no downforce, and the brakes don't work. But it's got a good engine!
And thats the owner of he car? Is he serious?

Heh heh, well yeah, he's actually fairly serious. It's relative to perfection though. He thinks it's all good, but the only bit that came close to the reviews and the unanimous adulation the car got from everybody was the engine. He strongly disagrees with what a lot of the reviews said, and has set out and spent a considerable amount of money and time getting things right. Specifcally downforce and stability at speed, and general handling and response.

The brakes are forgivable I guess, as braking technology has come a long way in ten years. But he is considering upgrading those to bring them more in line with what is available today.

This guy is a true petrolhead, and I encourage you to get some pizza, sit back and spend a few hours reading all of this:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=116008
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=116303
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=116539
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=226933

It is amazing (helps that he answers almost all questions, and writes eloquently and comprehensively to boot) and is a totally unique and completely unbiased insight into the thoughts and attempts at mechanical correction of an informed F1 owner. There is simply nothing else like it on the web, and the few posts found here on AF by F1 owners pale in comparison.

One of the most pertinent comments I've read coming from him is a recent one:

"I tell everyone who might be interested that the NSX is the best road car that I know of, so I am trying to do my bit."

This comes from an owner (and driver!) of both the NSX and the F1.

Re: Apparently #040 appears in EVO's 100th Edition

Totally agree with you on that DeaDLocK, imho Flemke's posts are among the most interesting on Pistonheads, not because he happens to own an F1, but because he really has something to say, takes his time for it and surely knows what he's talking about. And he really seems to hate poseurs cars / posing too That's how he earned my respect anyway, not because he owns an F1. By staying vague about his collection and wearing a helmet in the EVO feature he remains a bit of a mystery like Top Gear's Stig, I thought he was British, but to me as a Dutchman he sounds a bit American... Not meaning to provoke you Femke, I'm sure you will read this...

By the way I heard about the brakes of the F1 before, but never about a lack of downforce. Funny, because that's exactly how I felt about Gordon's other creation, the Rocket, and it was one of the reasons I sold it in the end. Especially at the front it is really TOO light imho, strangely in a similar way as classic 911s are at speed. Not exactly what you would expect from a legendary Formula 1 designer, but I guess Gordon is only human too...

Cheers, Ruben

Re: Apparently #040 appears in EVO's 100th Edition

Hello,

NSX is an excellent car. But taste are not the same for all. I agree with him but to say that, how many cars he has driving ?

He is a true petrolhead, right. I wish he come on this forum too

Re: Apparently #040 appears in EVO's 100th Edition

Wait wait

first, amazing vid ! It is not too easy to use the f1 on a "little" track. Maybe M. Bridger would give an advice on this vid. I think he could go faster but with some risks too...

Second, in this EVO, all these cars are featured ? If yes, I will buy it

Phil
