Battery Indicator Light came on

While driving my 1997 Chevy Malibu today my battery light came on, after I turned the fan setting from 3 to 2 (not sure if thats the cause), and won't turn off until the car is turned off. Now when I start the car, the battery indicator comes on and stays on, within a minute or so. I have no idea why this is happening as the battery is new. If anyone has any leads can you let me know.

Re: Battery Indicator Light came on

also check the underhood charge fuse[s] and relay before installing a new alt. Charge voltage should be greater than 13.5v at the battery at engine idle.

Re: Battery Indicator Light came on

would a defective charge fuse or relay cause the electrical accessories to lose power, ie wipers slowing down?
