1993 Geo Storm1.6 sputtering

My 93 storm sputters at 55 mph or over whether you're just trying to cruise or gas mashing. Last time it acted like this the ignition module was replaced and that worked. The ign. module tests good this time. I changed my rotor and did have rust on my pick-up coil but don't know how to change it out. Help

Re: 1993 Geo Storm1.6 sputtering

I've never seen a pick up coil go half bad. But it's eleven dollars at auto zone. and takes like 15 min to replace. remove distrubuter cap. one adj bolt.12mm. twist and pull. break the clip replace using one in box with p/u coil and slide it on install dist and cap DONE! Ta DA! At least I feel better knowing that one more thing is new and less likely to go out anytime soon.
And I would do a compression balance test. I think the spec is 140- 165 or so double check. I've bent many a valve on my sohc. And head gasket are common I don't often know they are bad till I replace them and realize Hey maybe this engine isn't blowed!

no less than 159psi on any cyl. highest no more than 14psi differ from lowest
