coolant

is it necessary on a 94 2.0L to purge the coolant system?

If there is a bleeder screw on the water outlet, yes. I believe that car has one of the drop in t-stats that sits in a housing topped by what looks like a radiator cap. If it is, then there is no coolant bleed proceedure.

I didnt think that there was... because you are right, the t-stat drops in..
