Before anyone says anything i tried searching and my comp would not bring search up.OK car has 186,000 miles, just replaced fuel filter, plugs, wires, oil, trans filter, coolant flush,water pump, and EGR because it was bad. Car ran GREAT like it was new. 2 days later go out to start car and will not start cranks strong, pulled fuel line to check for gas and it is geting gas. what now? Thanks in advance.

If you have fuel then there are probably other issues. First of all did you check the fuel pressure? If not you may not have enough pressure to allow the car to start. If you check the pressure and you have between 45 and 50 PSI you have enough pressure to start the car. If not then the fuel pump or filter or both may be bad.
Next, if the fuel checks out then spark has to be the issue. There are a couple possible issues. First the ignition module under the coils may be bad. This would preclude starting. The other possibility is the Crank position sensor. If it has gone bad it will not tell the ECM when to fire the plugs. Start with the ignition module and then the CPS. Before you start doing anything check all grounds and wiring at the starter! Good Luck! |
