Roll bar

Does anyone know a company that makes roll bars for our cars? I need one to bolt my harnes in. Not a roll cage, I only need a roll bar. If anyone knows and can tell me, I will be very thankful.

Re: Roll bar

why must you have a roll bar to attach your harness?

get a rear strut tower bar and attach your harness to that.

i know you did not mean a roll cage, but this is all i'm aware of for our cars, as far as off the shelf products. however, i'm sure you can figure out a clever way to secure the harness, if not by a strut tower bar.

Re: Roll bar

DO NOT USE A HARNESS WITHOUT A FULL ROLL CAGE.

Thats capitalized for a reason. Live by it.

Re: Roll bar

Connecting my harnesses to the rear strut bar is a good idea. Why shouldn't I connecat my harnesses fi I don't have a roll cage? Im not going to use them, they're mainly there for show.

Re: Roll bar

If you arent going to use them then why install them?

And the reason for not using harnesses without a cage is this. Harness keeps you securely in place. Rollover occurs, roof caves, head crushed, neck broken, whatever. At least with the stock 3 point you will fall out of the way. And, sorry Linebckr49, as for attaching them to a strut bat that is the worst idea in the history of attachment for a harness.

Re: Roll bar

no offense taken, but i don't think its a bad idea. and if its just for show, then go with the strut bar...much cheaper than a roll cage/roll bar.

btw, stealthee, have you been tippin the bottle tonight?

Re: Roll bar

reason i asked was b/c your posts seemed very hasty and w/o explanation. you usually explain things in great detail, but for you to just say something is dumb...well that doesn't mean anything to anyone.

still, i'm curious why you say attaching a harness to a strut bar is a bad idea. do you have a better idea (shy of a cage)? i've seen a lot of people using harnesses that don't have cages, i wonder where they attach them? probably to the seat or where the seat is bolted to the floor. honestly, i don't know much about harnesses, so ANYTHING more than "worst idea in the history of attachment for a harness" would be appreciative.

Re: Roll bar

In my opinion, and I know we've talked about this before, roll cages on the street are worthless. They're impractical, ugly, and dangerous. If you want to get harnesses, just do them up to the strut bar.

Re: Roll bar

I forgot that i posted this question before. Sorry for the double posts. Last time I posted this question, I didn't install the harnesses, and I just dug them out of my garage.
