2007 Yukon Denali Z71

I'm about to buy an 07 Denali but I can't seem to get an answer on the GMC site or other sites. Can you get a Denali in 4X4 - transfer case - and not Awd and can you get the Z71 package on the Denali?

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali Z71

The Denali's are only AWD or 2WD, not sure if they still make 2wd. The Z71 package is a chevy package only. If you want the Z71 package go with Chevy and get all the bells and whistles to make up all the extra's on the Denali.

That's actually not true. You can get the Z71 package on the other Yukon models.

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali Z71

I know you're new so I won't take offense. Z71 is strictly on Chevy's not on Yukon's. On the old style yukons you could order the Z71 package but it has not been available for years. I think they last offered it in 1999 or 2000. No where on the GMC site does it mention Z71 package. Don't take my word for it look for yourself. Z71 is not offered on GMC Denali's or regular Yukon's. You can get the rear auto locking differential, wheel flares high capacity air cleaner, and tubular steps, as options but the exterior appearance package and the Z71 cluster and interior are not available on regular Yukon's.

Z71 Off-Road Package
includes Z71 Off-Road Suspension, automatic locking rear differential, Z71-specific exterior appearance, wheel flares, Skid Plate Package, tubular assist steps, high-capacity air cleaner and Z71-specific cluster appearance and interior trim

Good luck with your research

Says it right here. This was on the "build your Yukon" on the GMC site.

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali Z71

There is a option on the GMC site called Z71 off road chassis. However it does not include everything the Chevy Z71 package offers. You still have to purchase the other options separately to make up the Chevy Z71 package. As you mentioned the Skid plate, the high capacity air cleaner, wheel flares....... all have to be purchased separately. So on a technicallity there is a Z71 off road chassis offered, but it is still not the Z71 package that you originally asked about.

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali Z71

I wouldn't call it a technicality. It's written right there on the GMC site -

CHASSIS PACKAGE Suspension Package, , Off-Road (Z71)

and there is no charge for the skid plate package -

SKID PLATE, OFF-ROAD Skid Plate Package, includes aluminum front underbody shield starting behind front bumper and running to first cross-member, protecting front underbody, oil pan, differential case and transfer case, frame-mounted shields (NZZ) $0.00

And it is exactly the package I originally asked about because I wasn't aware there was a difference between GMC and Chevy. And besides, who the heck wants fender flares! Especailly on a Denali.

Sorry my man. I think you were wrong on this one.

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali Z71

You orginally asked for the Z71 package on the Denali and it is not available

When you do some more research you can write me an apology.

Merry Christmas

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali Z71

Correct. My original question was if the Z71 package is available on Denalis. Your point was that the Z71 package is not available on YUKONS, only Chevys. That is not correct. You can get the Z71 package on the SL and SLT Yukons.

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali Z71

Sorry my mistake. There is a Z71 suspension option offered on the Yukon's, but it is not the same as the Z71 package offered on the Chevy's. When you say Z71 it usually connected with Chevy's.

If you are so adament on this subject why didn't you just look it up yourself instead of asking this question on the board. People come here for help not to start arguements.

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali Z71

I like you man. We can have some good talks. Disagreeing with someone or calling out their mistakes isn't the same as starting an argument.

Let me be clear. I always knew you can get the Z71 package on the SL and SLT Yukon. When I first went to the Denali Yukon page on the GMC site and went to the "build Your Yukon" section, it gave the option for the Z71. After going back at a later date, the option was gone. I wasn't sure if GM removed their mistake or if I just kept overlooking it and it was still on the site somewhere. That is why I created the thread. It's a non-issue now because I think I'm going to get a Sierra 2500HD Diesel instead.

Regardless, thanks for replying.

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali Z71

Calling it a Z71 suspension is retro for GMC. When I bought my Denali in 04 they did not have anything that said Z71 suspension for the Yukon's, and I'm not sure but I don't think they had it for 05 . They used to badge the Yukons with the Z71 label back in 98 or 99. My neighbor has a 2 door Yukon with the Z71 badging on the side.
