91 cavalier

ok i have a 91 cavalier. lately i have been having problems when i accelerate fast. it will die if i accelerate too fast. or when i am going like 30 to 40 mph and accelerate fast it will die and i have to slow down and get down to like 20 mph and it will start back up and i can drive again. now my car wont start at all. it sounds like it wants to start and it will crank over but it wont completely start. i checked for spark and too see if i am getting enough gas. i just dont know what to check anymore. i replaced my crankshaft position censor i am wondering if it is my camshaft position censor. i am not quite sure right now what to look at or wha to replace. can anyone help me out.

Re: 91 cavalier

I dont think that it is the catalyic converter because i am getting a backfire. now i am thinking that i skipped timing. therefore i have a buy that 3 piece crankshaft and camshaft gear and a new chain. but i didnt check if it skipped timing. i am still waiting to get a timing lite. if anyone thinks that is the time. post a reply and tell me. thanx
