Re: Anti theft system
You'd have to trouble shoot what's wrong. It could be some module. But without a service manual I don't know where to look.

Re: Anti theft system
Start with something simple. My 91 does the same thing even after the diode wires broke and I had to replaced the key set (not to expensive if you do it your self). Now I get in the car and put the key and turn the ignition on (doen't start). I put on my seat belt then start the car. Works every time. This give the system time to react. My son makes it go off all the time. He gets in the car and quickly starts the car. Flipping the key from off to start to fast for the computer to react, or at least the relays. Let me know if this helps.

Re: Anti theft system
Vats Answer
Does your key have a black chip on it? If so, your problem is an antitheft sytem failure. Inside the lock cylinder are 2 contacts that read the key. Each time you turn the key you are bending the wire that goes to these contacts. After a few thousand starts, the wire begins to break and won't read the key every time. Once it fails, you're locked out for 4 minutes before you can try it again. If it has failed once, it will fail again. Contact a tech to either bypass the system or replace the lock & key. Here is a link on how to bypass the system http://www.12vp.com/info_resistors.htm http://www.stolenandrecovered.com |
