99 Windstar - lost cruise control
I have a 99 Windstar (3.8, SE, 90K miles) that, after being serviced by a transmission shop has lost the cruise control. Is there some connection between the cruise control "system" and the transmission that they might have not re-connected? Wondering where to look first.
I appreciate the help! |

Re: 99 Windstar - lost cruise control
They moved things in the '99 versus the '98 and older.....and I have a '96.
I have pictures of some of the critical parts on my '96 in my pictures. The servo for the cruise control is above the transmission, under the air intake. A very common cause for loss of cruise control is a defective pressure switch on the bottom of the master cylinder. I have pictures of this posted as well...... Mine failed.....and caused an intermittent cruise control. The switch is cheap and easy to replace. Look at yours and see if it is damp with brake fluid......if even slightly damp......replace it. Also look for anything that they might have forgotten to plug back in.
