once again my car will not start

ok...I know I have posted this before!
So sorry.
I noticed my car would not start again this morning and I actually checked and nothing was left on in my car.
Now I did notice as I went to go tighten my ground wire...the connector is really loose. I am wondering if this is the problem. I am just going to take a shot at it and run to Auto Zone really quick and just replace the connector...I don't know if any of you guys on here might know anything different or not. So while i figure it out I am going to just buy a stupid connector right now and replace it...I will be back in a little while and post if it does not start.
Sorry I am just really confused!?

You have the 4 cylinder engine? Look at the front of the engine (passenger side). You will see two belts. The front one is for the power steering and a/c and the rear one is for the alternator. The alternator is towards the back of the engine compartment and is no fun at all to replace.

How sure are you that the alternator is faulty? Is the problem an internal short that drains the battery overnight? We talked about this before - as a short term stop gap solution, you could disconnect the negative battery terminal when the car is off and then it won't discharge overnight.

Avenger alternators are pricey and somewhat difficult to replace. I don't want to see you go to the cost and trouble for nothing. Just be sure that IS the problem.

Thank you for posting this...well I took my car to have a Electrical Dynostic Test on it...and good thing I did.
my alternator would of run me about 500 and didn't want to spend that much. Well at least the good thing it is not my alternator...on the other hand the guy that did the test said something was draining my battery through the electrical system. He couldn't tell me for sure because he does not specialize in that area.
It may be the factory car alarm I had cut out because I never got a keyless remote entry for it. I'm not sure. It could be the whole system and have one bad wire...I dunno. At least I know it is electrical, before I started spending money to fix something that is not broken.
I have no idea what it could be.
I have a 99' avenger 2.5 V6
if anyone might have any clue to what it is...I am just going to have to take it to have the whole computer system looked at.
Oh I know as of talking before hand...I did ask them about some lights staying on as a possibilty, but he told me that it wasn't any interior lights staying on over night as far as he could see...I don't know if that will help or not.

Re: once again my car will not start

Get a 12volt test light disconnect the battery ground. Hook the lead to the ground strap. Then touch the battery neg. terminal if the lights lights you have a draw on the system. Unplug your fuel pump relay. If it doesn't go out check the computer relay. I would first unplug the fuse for interior lights as they will draw until they go out. Then try one fuse at a time until the light goes out. If non of these cause problems watch interior lights and trunk lights to be sure they go out. You can remove the bulb for hood and trunk light.
If you still have a problem take your alternator to a rebuild shop to be checked. I took one on my wifes car to a rebuilder and he repaired it for $50.00 the parts store wanted $128.00.

Re: once again my car will not start

Ok...well i feel really stupid now ...but I actually took my car to roger's stereo here in greenville, sc and had them look at my car alarm to see if my problem was coming from there.
I have had my car for a year now and I was just told that I have a neon led undercar kit installed on my car. Hmmmm...I have driven it this whole time and never knew I had one...apparently the last person who owned this car never told me and there was a bad transformer to my switch to turn it off. That is why my lights never came on and it was drawing off my battery at night, causing it to wear down.
So, really cool...all i have to do is replace that and then i have a led undercar kit that works . I won't even have to install one now.
I just wanted to say thanks to those who were trying to help me, I really do appreciate it.
