98 Cav. Running Real Hot
OK, First off I have a 98 Cavalier with an automatic tranny and 2.2L engine. The car also has 228 thousand on it.
Now here is the problem. For about the past week the cars temp gauge is reading at the very end of the normal mark, almost to the Red. It never goes all the way to the red, but it never drops down more then 3/4 either. I have made sure There is plenty of Coolant, and there are no leaks, also I checked and made sure that the Fan is working. Do you think that this is a thermostat issue, or is it something else that im not thinking of?? Thanks in advance

Re: 98 Cav. Running Real Hot
Its either the thermostat or the radiator cap... I'd just replace both since they are cheap and see if that solves the problem.
![]() **EDIT** How the hell did this thread jump from the Cavy section to the F-body section???
