Broken door handle

about a month ago the passenger side door of my 1996 suburban(LT) became really hard to open. you would have to pull really hard on th handle. well yesterday the handle finally broke off. i just wanted to know if anyone has had a similar problem. and if they had to replace anything more than the handle itself.

Re: Broken door handle

Inside or outside door handle? I had to replace the inside door handle on driver's side of '97 Suburban about a year ago. It's a one-piece casting. Cost of replacement part from dealer was not too bad. Good luck.

Re: Broken door handle

The inside handle on my 97 is all one part . Just drill one rivet and hook up
the linkage ,replace the rivet with a lock nut & bolt .
