Condensation in Trunk
Recently, I noticed water frozen underneath the trunk. The carpet is all wet during warm weather. I'm positive it's from condensation. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Without going to a shop...TIA

Re: Condensation in Trunk
Strip out all the trunk trim, have some one climb in there, close the trunk and spray down the car and look for water intrusuion, spray around the tailites also. Try and get used to posting the year and model also.

Re: Condensation in Trunk
and spray around the rear glass, too, and the spoiler (if equipped)
you might be able to see by sitting in one of the back seats with the other one folded forward |

Re: Condensation in Trunk
my Intrigue trunk will sometimes spill water in after it has rained. You lift the trunk hood and 2-3 seconds later you have water pouring in from nowhere.
for the time being you can buy materials that will suck up that moisture. desiccants: (water absorbers) Quote:

Re: Condensation in Trunk
Another possible cause of water in the trunk is that the rubber gasket that's supposed to seal it is being obstructed. In my case, I run my XM antennta through it and occastionally get a little water in the trunk lid that will pour out when I open the trunk. A pin-sized gap somewhere is enough for water to seep in.

Re: Condensation in Trunk
Update, it's a 2000 intrigue GLS. Now that the weather is warmer, I actually did see the condensation underneath the trunk lead. It was pretty bad, the stickers were peeling off.
I'm going to silicon the weather stripping. |
