oil seal
Does anyone know if you can replace the rear oil seal on a 95 sebring with a 2,0 mitsubishi engine. Can you drop the oil pan and lower the crank and slide a new rear oil seal in or do you have to pull the engine. If I have to pull the engine what am I look at? thanks for any help.

No, you cannot drop the pan& crank,as it is a one piece seal, the best way to do it is to pull the transmission,not the engine,then pull the flex plate,& replace it,but I warn you it is packed very tight in there,& will suck very badly if you don't have a lift,well it will suck very badly if you DO have a lift.

We replaced the oils seal this weekend. We pulled the power unit. If you point the front of the engine up in the air it comes right out. I think the correct way to remove the whole thing is to drop it out the bottom.While the engine was out of the car I replaced the timing belt. the only trick was I had to rent a special puller (free from Autozone if you bring it back) to pull the harmonic balancer. The only problem we had was replacing all the electric connections. Don't forget the two on the tranny like I did. We also put on all new belts and hoses.
