1/12 Vette Dragster..scratched chassis

Here's the progress on what it seems like will be a long project. Sorry for the photobucket link, but it's easier than trying to figure out what the forum won't let me upload pics and the pics can be bigger.

The chassis is scratched from brass, my material of choice. Most of it is tubing, but there are various bits of rod, strip, and sheet mixed in.

The rear end pumpkin and spindles are from the camaro kit as are the front wheels and brake discs. The inner wheels are from the camaro kit, but extensively worked with a belt sander and very little patience to thin out to a 1/4" thick outer rim with no center.

The rear wheels and all four tires are straight from the vette kit as is the big block chevy and of course, the body.

The body is in the process of being smoothed out a bit. The grills behind the hood were shaved down, covered with sheet plastic and faired in. The headlight panel lines got filled, so did all the sink marks in the nose. The pegs that are meant to hold the front bumpers were shaved along with the door locks and anything else that needed to go. I left the spine and the mount for the rear emblem, since I'm going to mount the crossed flags.

The chassis has pegs that key into the ones on the body for the kit chassis, so it pretty much snaps into place. Pretty much everything not soldered is (barely) being held together in the pics with blue tack. I did slap the bottom parts of the motor together to align everything. Believe it or not, I can even use the vette kit's driveshaft.
