crying wolf
I've had my 1999 suburban for almost 4 yrs now. The engine light came on approx 4 months after I got the truck. Cost me $90 to find out the catalytic converter didn't like something. A month later it's on again. It's come on and gone off at least a dozen times since. If I took the truck to a dealer every time the sob lit up, I'd never get to drive the thing. Will a piece of electrical tape strategically placed solve my problem, or is something else brewing?

Do you recall what the specific error code was?

Re: crying wolf
Nope. It was a while ago and I have not taken it in again. It turns itself off after a while. The mechanic said it can light up if the gas cap is not tight, if I change brand of gas, oil, etc!?!
