Question tie rod problem??

1998 Grand Prix SE: When I am driving down the road, it is almost like a grinding sound coming from the front right tire area. I thought it was the brakes, so I replaced them with no luck. It still does it. Even worse when I turn the wheel. Could it be the tie rod doing this? Or maybe the axle? It almost feels as if the wheel is going to fall off. I am horribly stupid when it comes to cars. Please help!

You are kidding me. That much? Of course it had to happen right around Christmas time. This car has been nothing but problems for me. Any one else?

Re: tie rod problem??

Michgan's pot hole ridden roads wreak havok on hub bearings and suspension components. You can't really blame that on the car. GP's have their issues, but are relatively dependable. There are lemons in any car line, and you may have been unlucky.

You are very right. Michigan roads are horrible. Don't get me wrong, this car has been very dependable, it's just the little things. They seem to add up quickly. I guess all cars are that way.
