2000 Grand Prix eats power windows

My 2000 Grand Prix GTP has 140,000 miles on it. I have replaced 6 power window motors/regulators so far. Two doors have had the motor/regulator replaced once, two have been replaced twice. Pontiac went ahead and reimbersed me back for #5 (at 100,000 miles) when I complained, but refused to do so for #6.

Is this a common failure? I seem to go through these rather regularly.

I myself have gone through two motors for the drivers side window for my 1998. Such a pain. I am waiting for it to go again.

Re: 2000 Grand Prix eats power windows

I have a 2000 GTP 2 dr. coupe with 149,000 mi. that has had 2 replaced, 1 in each door so far. The drivers side went first at 1-1/2 years and 45,000 miles, that one I was able to argue it was so close to warranty the Pontiac dealer fixed it. The second was well after 90,000 miles and I had to pay for replacing it myself.
