Gas tank noise

97 grand marquis ls. Hearing a loud rumbling or burping noise comming from gas tank. Is is comming up from the fill tube. This happens with a full tank and down to about a 1/4. When i take off the gas cap it will stop. Put it back it starts.Any help would be great.

Check the tank vent line. Make sure it is not clogged.
