heater not blowing

I have a 1995 aurora and lights come on the dash for the heater/defrost being on but nothing blows out. is this the blower, motor or fuse?

Re: heater not blowing

Check all fuses first. If they are OK, it's probably the blower control module. I don't know about the 95, but on a 98, it's located under the passenger side dash.

Re: heater not blowing

One thing I did to diagnose was to have my wife hit the passenger side kick panel with her foot wher the blower was located. The fan started right up and we continued to do this till the blower just wouldnt work. After taking the unit out and opening the bottom of it I noticed a 'lot' of rust collored debris and cleaned the motor out with electrical cleaner. Someday I will need to replace the blower, but it has worked for about 8 months now without a problem. If you wanted to approach this with a little more finese' just lower the kick panel and tap on the motor 'round gold colored thing' a few times and see if it works.

Re: heater not blowing

I have to say that it has been a LONG time since my Aurora days but the blower motor held up great after cleaning. I think there is a breather tube near there that you can clean if clogged. The moisture builds up when the tube is clogged.
