steering knock

I got my truck back from the dealership yesterday. I had a knock at the top on the steering column when I would turn to the left (kind of like a joint was out of place and I could put both hands on the steering wheel and move it back and forth and get a knock and also under the hood when you would move the steering wheel back and forth there was a noise. I have 35,600 miles on the truck and had the steering shaft replaced twice and lubed once. They could not find the problem a couple of time I brought it in. I talked to my salesman and he got the service manager to ride with me. Thank God the truck made the noise while he was in the truck. They ended up changing the steering gear(ex. play) and also the steering column(Worn parts) . Now my truck drives live a dream. I am thinking about getting an extended warranty.

Re: steering knock

There are other posts in here with the same problem. Do not be surprised if it comes back in 6 months.

I have been lucky enough not to have this problem yet. knock on wood.
