1995 oldsmobile Delta 88/ won't run

This car will not run after a re-man engine was installed. I have replaced the P.C.M and checked all power and grounds to computer and on the engine block. I have had the ignition module tested and it works. I have also replaced the coil packs. The car acts like it is seriousley out of time. So I checked cam timing and its right on. Compression is 160. I put a noid light on the injector wire harness and it is flashing. Checked fuel pressure it is 48 PSI and I have scanned all sensors on the engine with a genisis, everything seems to be within range. The only sensor that wasn't changing values is the crank sensor. It is supposed to have 0-2 advance-retard but not sure if it has to run to get that. Scanner info says 0-2 and its at 0. But the veichle has not run. Can I be fighting a cam or crank sensor? No codes are present or in history. Thank you for your time and look forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you, Mark

Do you have spark?, any rpm reading when cranking on your scanner? Wires are in order off the coils right? All basics here.

Re: 1995 oldsmobile Delta 88/ won't run

Yes I do have spark and the modual checked. There is an RPM reading when cranking, I beleve it is arround 123. The battery is fully charged and it seems to be turning over fine. The starter labors a little when the engine backfires through the intake. It seems like a timing issue. And I have tried the only two fireing order for the 3.8. I had forgot to mention that it is getting a fair amount of fuel. Should I try another set of plugs? They are pretty black. I'm not to sure of what exactly I am missing here?
Hope to hear back from you. Thanks again.

Double check your VIN number. The '95 88 should have a Series II 3800 VIN "K" so there is only one proper firing order. See below:

SII 3800 Firing Order

1-6-5-4-3-2

Front bank, from left to right (passenger side to driver side) is 1, 3, 5
Rear bank, from, left to right (passenger side to driver side) is 2, 4, 6.

The coil pack placement:

top coil: 6 on top/left, 3 on bottom/right
Middle coil: 2 on top/left, 5 on bottom/right
Bottom coil: 4 on top/left, 1 on bottom/right

When the engine was replaced did the new engine have sensors such as the crank position sensor and camshaft position sensor or did you use the ones off the old engine? Double check the wiring harness and electrical connections to CKPS and CPS to include at the ICM module and the harness intermediate connector going to the PCM module.

Also, not sure how you tested the ICM module but I would not reply on bench testing an ICM module. Try one off another similar vehicle/engine or replace outright.

Re: 1995 oldsmobile Delta 88/ won't run

Check this out guys... I went to install the balancer and noticed I could not FIND the keyway! And upon futher investigation, the mechanic that had installed the engine, pushed the balancer on and CRUSHED the keyway causing the engine to be 90+ degrees off. I suppose that is why that mechanic got fired and I was hired, he was turning out work such as that. I haven't put it back together yet but, I'm confident that will cure the problem. Once again, Thanks for your time. It just goes to show that you can fix a car with properly installed parts but there is no test procedure for improperly installed parts.
