Exhaust Dump Versus Full Exhaust

Got a question for all of you or whoever reads this, i am trying to decide if i should get a complete turbo back exhaust done, or if i should just run a dump from the down pipe, i know which would be cheaper but i want to go with the most beneficial for power and best sounding, just wondering if anyone is currently running a dump on their WRX and if so does it sound good and what your thoughts are, hopefully someone has tried both, if so i would appreciate your thoughts and comments thanks

Running anything less than a full turbo back exhaust will leave u craving more.

Listen to my car after I got a TBE and compare it to a stock WRX.

u'll know what i mean

few other mods on it too...dunno if they'd make too much diff to the sound.

Exhaust dump is 100% illegal, you get caught with one and you're in a world of hurt.

Turbo back on the other hand you can usually sneak by except for if you have to pass emissions.

Performance wise, I would run the turboback.

Re: Exhaust Dump Versus Full Exhaust

I know that it is illegal but it wont be running the dump the whole time i will have a switch to run the dump when i want and normal exhaust for daily driving, i dont have to worry about emissions because where i live you do not have to pass emissions. I was just wondering which was better for performance and the car, and how it sounds quality wise, thanks for the feed back any more is helpful.

Re: Exhaust Dump Versus Full Exhaust

Even having the exhaust dump on the car is illegal, it doesn't have to be opened to invoke the consequences of having it.

As to what sounds better, full turboback sounds much smoother through the rev range and not only offers good performance gain but also is better for the car.

Re: Exhaust Dump Versus Full Exhaust

Well thanksman that is what i needed to know, i was not informed that it was totally illegal, i knew you could get in trouble for it but didnt know that, and that is what i wanted to hear about the full exhaust i thought it would sound better and be better overall for the car, a buddy of mine said it would make a huge difference but i wanted more opinions on the issue, and also from people who owned subies, so thanksfor the input, anymore would still be helpful, especially ont he subject of route to go with exhaust brands and all, what you guys are running and what has given the best performance gains aand whatnot thanks peace
