Angry Major electrical problems....

It all started about a month ago. I was at church for a few hours, came out and my truck wouldnt start. I thinking...man, what happened. I turned the ignition a few times and it started up like normal. So, I think nothing of it. I then drive to Wal-Mart to grab a few fews and I come out and it wouldnt start again. I was listening for the fuel pump and wasnt hearing anything, so I thought that it was my fuel pump. I put some gas in it and it started right up. Didnt think anything else about it. So, I got it home and the next day I go to start it up and it wouldnt start. Im wondering again...what happened? So, Im looking for all signs of complication. I then notice that when I turn the key foward, the lights on the dash dont light up. In the on position, the check gages, etc. would not come on. These are the times whern my truck wont start. When I turn the key in the on position and the dash lights come on, the truck starts. So, sometimes, I have to turn the key anywhere from 50 to a few hundred times to get the lights to turn on and the truch to start. Can anybody help with this problem? Anyone ever seen this.

-Brandon
