Need a "hot" switched wire?????

Installing an accessory that requires a hot switched wire. One that goes on with the ignition. I just can't find one. I tried one of those fuse extensions on my daytime driving lights and the lights did not work any more. Had to take it off. Any help would be approecated.

If you already have a fuse extension (like http://www.gizmos-gadgets.com/index....c2b71a903617d8) then hook into the accessory fuse.

Mini fuse extender worked for me. Maybe you bought a bad one?

along the same lines, is there a place in the firewall to get wires from the inside to the engine compartment easy? I want to add a big rig air horn, and additional driving lights. I don;t want to drill a hole if I don;t have to. Ideas?

There is a fuse box under the hood. You should be able to use a fuse extender, or run a fused line off the power coming from the fuse box.

There should be a gromet with wire going thru already in the firewall near the drivers feet. You can easily run a wire for a switch thru this gromet.
