i was cut off yesterday by someone.. (welcome to NY)
my horn went from a loud strong sound to a whimpy 1 tone high pitch noise. what can i do about this? what happened? where is the horn? thanks again you guys never let me down -chris |

One of your horns may be failing. You probably have two horns, a high pitch and low pitch.
Do you have a multimeter or test light so you can test for voltage to the horn once you find it? -Rod |

1996 ford explorer...any yes i can check voltage but havnt yet

As Dr98 mentioned, the two horns are mounted in the left front corner above the fender apron. Per the service manual, the steps to replace the horns is as follows:
1. Raise and support the hood. 2. Remove the horn bracket bolt. 3. Remove the fender apron bolts. 4. Position the fender apron aside. 5. Remove the horn. -Disconnect the electrical connector. -Remove the horn. -Rod |
