'00 Blazer - Fuel gauge problem
I have a 2000 Blazer 4WD. When the tank is full the fuel gauge reads (Full). It continues to read Full for about 200 miles. Then the gauge drops to about 5/8 Full. It stays there for about 75 miles and then it falls to Empty and the Low Fuel indicator light comes on. When that happens, I have only about 5 miles of gas left.
I think it's the Fuel Level Sensor. Suggestions? Thanks. Chuck |

Your guess is a good one. I'd guess you are correct. |

Re: '00 Blazer - Fuel gauge problem
Had the same problem with my '00 Blazer LT last year and my mechanic told me it was going to cost $700 CDN to fix. I left it over the winter and it started working again and it has been fine ever since.

Re: '00 Blazer - Fuel gauge problem
Yep it's your fuel pump/sending unit module that's gone bad. Have you noticed it doesn't start on the first try recently? If not, it's just the sending unit that's bad. If so, the pump is also going bad. Either way, it's all one part. The cheapest high quality module I've found was the Delphi unit from www.getgmparts.com part# FG0052 and it runs around $243 ...
I bought one recently and they went out of their way to be sure I got it after a few problems getting it shipped but I highly recommend them. Last edited by bhesson; 12-23-2006 at 05:29 AM. |
