Exclamation Keys shorted out my radio

Heya,

I have a 89 firebird and i recently rested my keys on an exposed side view mirror toggle switch (paint shop lost it). The car was off at the time. There was a spark and when i turned on the car the radio was not working. I was wondering what i could do.

A little click happy are we? lol

Have you checked all your fuses? If they are all ok then its possible that you blew a capacitor inside the radio.

Re: Keys shorted out my radio

I know where the fuses are but i don't know what to be looking for :P. Aswell, the power unlock for the doors button doesn't work, but when i use my alarm remote to open the doors it works.

Thx for any suggestions!

Re: Keys shorted out my radio

If you have to take each fuse out and see it the metal parts inside are broke or not. You can also put a voltage meter on them to see if current is flowing through them...

Here is a picture showing the difference between a good fuse and a bad fuse.
