'96 GA fog lights?

I've got a problem with the fog lights on my 3.1l '96 GA. The DS fog light keeps burning out! The first time this happened was right after I got the car so I replacd both of them. A couple of weeks later the DS burned out again. I figured that I'd just gotten a bad bulb, so I replaced it only for it to blow again. I tested the voltage on both sides and they're both near 13V. I also checked for a cracked lens and a bad weather seal at the socket. Everything looked good so I replaced it one last time only for it to happen again! Does anybody have any ideas why only one of them keeps blowing out? It's always the DS and never thePS fog light. All of the other lights work and none of them have ever needed replacing.

Re: '96 GA fog lights?

It could be leaking moisture in and blowing the bulbs.
A bad socket or the wires just behind the socket get broken sometimes and short out.

Becarefull not to touch the bulb with your fingers, or anything if youcan help it.

On a few 99+ GA's I've found that they blow only the passenger side.
Cleaned the grounds for the lights up by the fender and it usually fixed it.

So yoiu might check the grounds.
Should be close to the center radiator support,
behind the headlamps.
