I have just bought my first 200sx. 96 uk model. The boost is reading just 2psi. The car has had a bleed valve fitted but it appears to be doing nothing. I have checked and there are no leaks from turbo to inlet manifold. Has anyone any ideas? Do you know what the standard boost level should be? Please help!

Re: 2psi boost problem
bleed valve or blow off valve? stock boost is around 7psi...it shouldnt be too hard to tell if its actually boosting 2psi or not. it would be slow as fuck.

Re: 2psi boost problem
the actuator might be broken... check it!

Re: 2psi boost problem
if the actuator was broken wouldnt it just not stop boosting. one time my hose came off my actuator so ther was no pressure to open the wastegate.
maybe its a wastegate problem.

Re: 2psi boost problem
if the actuator arm was broken, then the wastegate flapper would just come open and not build boost. pressure check the system to see for leaks, check wastegate setup.

Re: 2psi boost problem
same here, unless you have some massive engine vibration.. or it being rusty as hell

Re: 2psi boost problem
ive never seen an arm break either, but it matters what design you have, mine has a nut adjuster so if your did it can come loose and come off (the arm now being split in 2 pieces) or it can be out of adjustment. I would check your actuator and make sure the diagrahm is still good and working.

Re: 2psi boost problem
Maybe your turbo is blown. Maybe your boost gauge is bad.
