Honda CB750F

Hi mates

After some period without updates I decided to show this project
The bike will be built as a "stock" bike without other modifications because is a present for my uncle.

This is the box

The plate for the chain is painted with alclad chrome but I'm having problems with it... also I thing it needs more coats but at the moment I don't have more paints so I hope to buy it again soon

I have to say that I'm enjoying a lot with this project so next days you will see more updates

PS: I have a lot of ideas and projects to come , and now I'm modifying my website to show to you all that I have in mind

Re: Honda CB750F

Hi Roca ;
the secret with Alclad Chrome is ....
you need a GLOSSY Black Groundcoat the more the Alclad will shine .
and Alclad only in very THINN Coats ..thats all.
Example:

After that you will get very shiny parts .
Cheers Lutz

Re: Honda CB750F

Nice start...I'm currently building the regular version of this bike.

As for the Alclad Chrome, it's important you use a black enamel paint for the base coat... it must be enamel!

Airbrush at around 10-12 psi and do it in several thin coats.

Re: Honda CB750F

Hi Roca, We will follow this project, because my daughter ( 7 years old ) is building the same bike.
It's her first motorbike. I will post a topic of it as soon as possible.

Good luck with yours.
Denman

Off to a great start, fuel lins look great

Why do peolpe say it must be enamel ? It doesn't! even Alclads Black base is NOT emamel

I think because when it first came out the bottle said it had to be enamel. That is what I use, I find the chrome bites into the enamel and is less resistant to rubbing off. I have tried it on top of some lacquers and it did not stand up to handling as well.

Roca, the bike looks excellent so far. Nice clean work.

Mike.

Re: Honda CB750F

Thank you guys! Well this weekend unfortunately I don't have pictures, but next weekend yes.
The wheels has taken me 2 hours in paint the fine lines so I hope to give them a clear coat.
When you open this box or older kits you can see how the quality of Tamiya was for those years... and how has been perfected

Re: Honda CB750F

Thanks James

It seems that some people of this forum don't have time to post replys on my post or simply are troublesome with me for some reason.. maybe the Aprilia project that I promised...
