WIP: 1/32 Mitsubishi Pajero (1st gen)

I'm currently engrossed with a 1/32 Mitsubishi Pajero that a friend of mine asked to modify to make it look like a junior version of his ride. Here's a pic of his ride:

and here's what i've been doing so far:

the original diecast toy disassembled:

i've put in a guide of masking tape and thick packing tape in preparation to cutting open the roof for the sunroof.

and as i'm cutting through the roof using the carbide disk attachment ng rotary tool:

progress!

yay, hole done!

multiple shots of the grill after shaping it into what the real paj has:

and brushed on a couple of thin coats of flat black, just to see how it'll look:

here's the top of the sunroof from the headliner:

and the visors and rearview mirror:

and the grab handles for the front:

Re: WIP: 1/32 Mitsubishi Pajero (1st gen)

progress pics for the hoodscoop. buti na lang i found an attachment for the rotary tool that lets me gouge out the metal faster than the carbide cutter, though in the initial parts, i chipped off an old carbide disk to make it fit in the tight areas.

so...why did it have some burn marks? hehehehe...tried to accelerate drying the putty kasi using an open flame. bad idea, the putty sure dried up and when i sanded it down, it came off in CHUNKS, not finely. bad idea. hehe!

Re: WIP: 1/32 Mitsubishi Pajero (1st gen)

almost done with the hoodscoop! just the mid-level splitter and i'll try to figure it out tomorrow.

of course, since the epoxyclay wood ain't strong enough, i coated both the top and underside of the hoodscoop with some mighty bond (CA glue), just to be sure.
