problems as usual

ok i got a fun wonderful wiring problem again. my "C" clip on the ecu was tragically broken and i had to put in a new clip. so i put in a new clip that i thought was from the same year civic but the clip will not click into the ecu. also now when i press my brakes i get the door ajar light on the dash but no rear brakelights. also my map senso is not working. ive tested for continuity and for the map and brake lighhts and they are iin the right pin hole. i dont know what to do anymore tried to buy a new interior harness but that turned out to be not for my 1990 dx close but no dice. as usual any help would be great and yes i know this is a stupid problem. thanks

Re: problems as usual

Well, only thing I can think of is to get the right clip for your ecu and trace your steps to correct the problem or try a different ecu. You may have shorted out a connection or two, hence creating issues for you. I hope this works.

The plugs are the same for all 88-91 hondas/acuras.

I was wondering about that cuz if they were the same, then why won't the replacement clip latch on the ecu?

Just use a thin screwdriver and unbend it. I can't see how it's so bad that you can't straighten it out just a bit, enough for the plug to get a connection.

Re: problems as usual

the pin is laying in an almost spiral at the back of the clip the floor if you will an i can bearly move it around with a screwdriver its so fucked im thinking if i do end up straitening it out it might break form being bent so much but whatever i will get it taken care of somehow it just always takes a week or two till i come back to it with a diffrent mind set. also its not like its bent to the left or right a little bit this pin is demolished
